The Golden Edge Nelson Rowing Club caters for school, club and masters members and has a current masters membership of around 60.

South Island JUNE Masters regatta

The South Island Masters is held every year at Queen’s Birthday Weekend. Well, that’s the plan, but of course Covid interrupted it in 2020; and in 2021, when the regatta was to be held in Ashburton, flooding closed the lake and stymied plans once again.

Coastal Rowing in New Zealand

It’s fair to say that the longstanding champion of coastal rowing in New Zealand is Greg Reid. He has been attending the World Coastal Rowing Championships since 2005 when they were in Italy, and pioneered building coastal boats as well.

THE 2022 LEGION OF ROWERS

We had a gloriously successful Masters Legion Regatta on 14 May at Lake Karapiro. There were over 230 athletes attending and the weather gods were kind, giving us light winds and a mostly sunny day.
