This year it has been exciting to see the sporting events scene ramp back up following disruptions from COVID-19, in particular the Aon University Rowing Championships recently held in Whanganui. Thank you to the teams of volunteers for making this regatta a success.

The summer rowing regatta calendar is looking very exciting. I encourage athletes, family and friends to continue participating and supporting the sport of rowing. Ross Bailey

Aon has been a major partner of Rowing New Zealand for 18 years and I am delighted to announce that our longstanding commitment has been formally recognised at the Sport New Zealand 2022 Sport and Recreation Awards, that took place on October 31st in Christchurch. Aon New Zealand was nominated as one of three finalists in the Commercial Partnership category. Keep an eye out for the result on Rowing New Zealand’s social channels.

Aon New Zealand will be continuing our relationship as Major Partner of Rowing New Zealand for another two years and we are very much looking forward to what this partnership will bring in future, which will include attending the Aon Maadi Cup at Lake Karāpiro in March 2023. The Aon Laszlo Legacy initiative will continue, and you will see another pair of fantastic Laszlo single skiff boats for winners of the U/17 boy's and girl’s finals.

The summer rowing regatta calendar is looking very exciting. I encourage athletes, family and friends to continue participating and supporting the sport of rowing.
